It was all about defense for the Irvine Valley women's basketball team Friday night on the road at Riverside.
The Lasers limited Riverside on the offensive end in a 67-40 win, which kept IVC in the playoff hunt.
Irvine Valley improved its record to 13-12 overall and 5-4 in the Orange Empire Conference.
The Lasers stayed in fourth place in the OEC.
It was the fifth time this season that IVC has held an opponent to 40 points or less.
Irvine Valley led, 18-6, after the first quarter and, 30-16, at the half.
Riverside shot just 21.5 percent (14 of 65) for the game and made just 1 of 14 three-point shots.
IVC scored enough with sophomore guard Moka Saiki, freshman guard Samantha Barnett and freshman forward Alexis Price leading the way.
Saiki finished with 17 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Barnett added 16 points, four rebounds and a big-time six blocks.
And Price contributed 10 points, five assists and an impressive 17 rebounds (four offensive and 13 defensive).
Sophomore point guard Haruka Mikuma also had nine points and five rebounds for the Lasers.
Irvine Valley has a bye in conference action next Tuesday and plays again Thursday, Feb. 13 against district rival Saddleback at home at 5 p.m.
It will be sophomore night for Irvine Valley.
