Men's Water Polo Goes 3-1 at the West Valley Tournament

The American River College Men's Water Polo progam went 3-1 over the weekend after competiting in the West Valley College Tournament.
The Beavers played four matches against some of the top water polo programs in the state of California. The Beavers opened day one against #1 West Valley College. The match was a memorable one that saw the Beavers and West Valley battle to the end. Caden Rutan and Cayden Pitzer would lead the Beavers with three goals each. Unfortunately, the Beavers would fall to West Valley by a final score of 12-9. The Beavers would bounce back later that day defeating Mt. San Antonio College by a final score of 18-7. The Beavers were led in this match by Mateo Ruano's eight goals and Renzo Archer's four goals.
On day two the Beavers opened the day against Cypress College of Southern California. The Beavers defeated Cypress 18-13 in another highly competitive match. Mateo Ruano led the Beavers with five goals and Caden Rutan added four goals. In the final match of the tournament the Beavers defeated Santa Rosa Junior College convincingly by a final score of 25-6. Andrew Donlin led the Beavers in this match with five goals and Nolan Storrs and Karsten Taggatz added three goals respecitvely.
After the tournament the Beavers improve to 13-6 overall (with 3 losses to NCAA institutions) and will resume Big 8 Conference play on Wednesday, October 16th, as they travel to play Modesto Junior College at 5 PM.
