RCC Falls to Saddleback on the Road
Riverside City College closed out its Orange Empire Conference series with No. 19-ranked Saddleback College Friday afternoon, falling 6-2.
The Tigers drop to 6-11 on the year and 2-1 in conference, while the Bobcats improve to 15-5 overall, 1-2 in the OEC.
Five Tigers had hits in the game – Carissa O'Neil, Rebeca Razo, Alysse Flores, Isabella Ramirez, and Abigail Baldwin – with all five going 1-for-3.
Saddleback scored two runs in the first, but RCC answered back with a Flores solo home run to lead off the second.
After the Bobcats increased their lead to 4-1 with two more runs in the third, but the Tigers pulled within two after Baldwin knocked an RBI single in the fourth. It was all Riverside would muster up, however, as Saddleback sealed the 6-2 victory.
RCC looks to bounce back next week as it takes on Golden West College for a new OEC three-game series. Impending rain could change the schedule, but as of now, the Tigers are slated to play at the Rustlers on Tuesday at 2 p.m. to start the series.
