
Cats swat the Hornets
The Saddleback women's volleyball team improved to 6-3 overall with a 3-0 sweep of Fullerton College on Friday night in Fullerton. The Bobcats are now 2-0 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play.
Saddleback came out hot and never looked back. The Bobcats rolled past the Hornets 25-12, 25-14 and 25-23 for their second sweep of the season.
Meg Gardner had a great night, leading Saddleback with 11 kills while finishing with a .429 kill percentage. Gardner was part of an offensive attack that finished at .255 as a team.
Saddleback had a chance to get nearly every person on the roster into the game. Gardner was also a force in the defensive end, leading the team with 15 digs on the evening. Sophie Vienna was up to her old tricks, dishing out 28 assists while the team finished with 11 service aces in the three sets.
Saddleback is now ½-game back of both Cypress College and Riverside City College in the OEC standings.
Saddleback will be back at home on Wednesday night when they host Santa Ana College (5-6, 0-2). The Bobcats and Dons are scheduled to start at 6:00 PM inside the gymnasium.
