Bobcats pick up OEC win

Bobcats pick up OEC win

The Saddleback men's tennis team picked up a win in Orange Empire Conference play with a 7-2 victory over Fullerton College on Tuesday at the Saddleback Tennis Complex.  The Bobcats are now 1-1 in conference play.

Saddleback has played some of the toughest competition in the southern half of the state so far and picked up an easy win against Fullerton College on Tuesday.  The Bobcats took advantage of a short roster for Fullerton, who had just four players and had to forfeit three matches as a result.

Saddleback took 2-of-3 doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.  The Bobcats then made quick work of the Hornets in singles play, picking up two wins by forfeit and then winning three more on their own.

Max Banks was a two-time winner on Tuesday, winning in both doubles and singles play.  Banks teamed with Adrian Cole for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles before cruising to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.

Saddleback is now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will be back in action next Tuesday when they host Orange Coast College in OEC play.  Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM at the Saddleback Tennis Complex.
