Riverside City College men's water polo opened Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play at Cypress College on September 11. The Tigers got a hat trick from Luke Bills and two goals each from Lennon Franklin (two drawn ejections, two steals) and Colby Martin but dropped the game 22-7.
RCC moves to 5-3, 0-1 in OEC on the year while the Chargers improve to 4-1, 1-0. The Tigers will make their home opener on Friday, September 13 with a doubleheader against Chaffey College and Río Hondo College at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
Riverside took a 7-6 lead in the first quarter. Cypress turned the game around over the final 24 minutes to secure the win.
