Burns leads Bobcats to win at Cypress

The Saddleback women's water polo team ended a three-game slump with a 13-7 win at Cypress College on Wednesday in Cypress.  Aaliyah Burns (pictured) led the Bobcats with four goals in the game.

Saddleback was in a mini-slump coming into the game after dropping three straight games against rugged competition at the Mt. San Antonio College Tournament.  The Bobcats got back on track against Cypress in picking up their first Orange Empire Conference win of the season.

Saddleback had a 3-1 lead after the opening quarter and a 9-1 lead at the half.  The Bobcats scored in the opening minute of the game when Katie Butler found the back of the net.  Aaliyah Burns extended the lead to 2-0 just over a minute later and Saddleback was off and running.  Burns would score two more goals later in the half as the Bobcats were never threatened by the Chargers.  Burns would add her fourth goal of the game at the midway point of the fourth quarter to give Saddleback a 13-5 lead.

Saddleback is now 9-6 overall and 1-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will play again in the Ventura College Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
