The Irvine Valley men's basketball team saw its season come to a close Wednesday night in the opening round of the 3C2A So. Cal. Regional Playoffs.
The Lasers, who were the No. 24 seed, fell at No. 9 Chaffey, 84-73.
Irvine Valley ended its season with a record of 17-14 overall.
IVC was led by freshan post player Matt Mowers and freshman wing Yanis Aldeguer with 16 points each. Mowers also contributed eight rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore forward Ammon Allan added 12 points, five rebounds and three assists and sophomore Josiah Reed had nine points, eight rebounds and five assists for IVC.
Chaffey scored the first 11 points of the game and led by 13 at the half (51-38). The Panthers were up by as many as 24 points in the game.
Irvine Valley continued to grind and got as close as six points in the second half.
But the Panthers pulled away down the stretch.
Chaffey out-scored IVC in points in the paint, 32-24, and out-scored the Lasers on points off turnovers, 19-2.
The Panthers were led by Uriyah Rojas with 26 points, 10 rebounds and two steals and Nate Simon with 23 points, four assists and three steals.
Chaffey moves on to take on Fullerton on Saturday.
