#1 Long Beach
No. 2-ranked Riverside City College hosted two ranked opponents in its mini tournament on Friday, splitting on the day. The Tigers (22-2) dropped a close 8-5 loss to top-ranked Long Beach City College but closed the day with a 13-6 victory over No. 7-ranked San Diego Miramar.
Nicole Robertson and Chandler Burrell each scored twice against the Vikings, while Annabella Storar also added a goal.
In the second game, the Jets kept things close early until RCC scored five unanswered goals to jump out to an 11-5 lead. Yosra Elseifi started the scoring spree with a goal just under a minute before halftime, while Aleira Valenzuela, Samantha Thomas and Abigail Ruiz also got in on the run.
Elseifi finished with five goals, while Ruiz chipped in four to help the Tigers grab the win.
Tea Summers made nine saves in the cage and Kirsten Maag added another two.
Riverside heads to the Battle at the Beach, hosted by Long Beach, on Friday, taking on Cuesta College at 8 a.m.
