Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team went on the road and swept Palomar, 25-20, 25-14, 25-20 Wednesday night.
The Lasers, ranked No. 6 in the state, were coming off of a tough loss at Long Beach City last Friday.
But IVC responded with a solid win at Palomar.
Irvine Valley, ranked No. 5 in the state, improved its record to 7-2 overall. Palomar went to 2-7 overall.
The Lasers received big performances from freshman outside hitter Tucker McClain with 10 kills and freshman opposite Travis Kaufman with eight kills.
McClain hit .600 on the night, while Kaufman hit .538 for the Lasers.
Freshman setter Bryce Nohava ran the offense to a .446 hitting percentage for the team.
Nohava finished with 28 assists, five digs and four blocks in the contest.
Freshman libero Cage Gonzalez chipped in eight digs and freshman middle blocker Joshua Damianopoulos ended with five kills out of five attempts and had six total blocks on the night.
Irvine Valley has a big match coming up on Friday.
The Lasers host No. 2 San Diego Mesa at 6 p.m.
