Tigers Storm the Castle, Defeat the Knights

Match Notes:

 

  •  With Orange Empire Conference play completed, RCC began preparation for the playoffs with a strong non-conference win over San Diego City College.
  •  Freshman Danny Garcia moved into the #2 singles spot and picked up the "Eco Boost Award" (completing the first match of the day with no waste – environmentally friendly) with a dominating win, 6-0, 6-0.
  •  Aliaksandr Pesniak was just off the pace finishing his match 6-0, 6-0, while Eliott Moreno handled his opponent at #5 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
  •  Josh Stevenson finished his RCC career on a high note with a solid match, winning 6-1, 6-1.
  •  Sophomore Jordan Gobatie sealed the victory for the Tigers at #1 with a commanding second set, winning his match 7-5, 6-1.
  •  The Tigers completed the sweep in doubles with the doubles team of Pesniak/Stevenson turning in the most dominating performance, winning 8-0 at #3.
  •  RCC will compete tomorrow against Pacific Coast Conference Champion San Diego Mesa College. This match will be at home and will conclude the regular season for the Tigers. 
  •  The Southern California Team Regionals seeding meeting will be held Sunday April 7th to determine the 8 playoff teams and seedings. Team playoff matches will begin Tuesday April 9th.
  •  RCC also looks forward to the Orange Empire Conference Individual Tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday April 11-13 at Fullerton College. The quarterfinalists in singles and doubles will advance from the conference tournament to the Ojai Regional and State Championships.
