The No. 5 Hornets played a non-conference game on the road Tuesday night at No. 17 West LA College and squeezed past the Wildcats 73-72.
FC's Jeremiah Davis said "hello" to the Wildcats hitting a three-pointer for the opening shot. The Hornets pushed it to a 14-9 lead by the on another trey by Shawn Woodson by 11:56. Fullerton held a small lead over West LA for the remainder of the half narrowly closing it out 31-29.
It was in the middle of the second half when the Hornets enforced their biggest lead of the game (12) that was capped off by a layup by Alex Archer. The game was going along well for FC, but the momentum swung heavily in West LA's favor as the team went on a big 23-11 run taking a one-point lead (66-55) by the 3-minute mark. The fight was on for the last couple minutes of the game as both teams went back and forth, until Justin Davis finished it for Fullerton with last-second layup.
Jeremiah Davis had a good night leading the Hornets in scoring with 21 points. Christian Watson followed with 14 points and 5 rebounds, while Amound Anderson scored 13 points. Justin Davis dropped in 8 points and Andrew Pipersburgh brought down 7 boards.
