Saddleback routs LA Pierce

The Saddleback men's soccer team won its second straight game with a 7-3 victory over Los Angeles Pierce College on Friday inside the stadium.  The Bobcats open Orange Empire Conference play on Tuesday.

Saddleback set another program record on Friday when it scored seven goals in a game.  Just five games into its inaugural season, the Bobcats have turned some heads and Friday's performance was another worth remembering.

Saddleback scored six goals in the opening half in taking a 6-1 lead into the locker room.  The Bobcats scored in the first minute of the game when Joel Smith tickled the twine off a pass from Bryan Landazuri CarloPedro Castillo made it 2-0 just 14 minutes later off a pass from Nathan Aquino.

Los Angeles Pierce was credited with a goal in the 20th minute when the Bobcats inadvertently put a ball in their own net.  Saddleback quickly bounced back, scoring four times in 15 minutes to take a commanding lead.  Andrew Jun, Joel Smith, Sepand Soutehkashan and Kevin Sanchez all scored as the Brahmas had no answers.

Soutehkashan (pictured) scored his second of the game in the 47th minute off a pass from Alex Martinez as the Bobcats took a 7-1 lead early in the second half.  Saddleback had it on cruise control the rest of the day.

Saddleback is now 3-1-1 following the win.  The Bobcats open Orange Empire Conference play on Tuesday when they host Cypress College.  The Bobcats and Chargers are set to start at 3:00 PM inside the stadium.
