Another fantastic year for the Eagles!

The 2023 season for L.A. Mission College's women's tennis team has been nothing short of magnificent. In only the second year of the program, the Lady Eagles have risen to a #4 ranking in Southern California and despite their 5-2 loss to top-seeded Orange Coast College in the second round of the Southern California Regional playoffs on Tuesday, the Eagles put up a good fight.

The Pirates, who are undefeated this season with a record of 20-0, were anticipated to win. However, L.A. Mission College did not make it easy for them. In doubles play, the Eagles won one match and had a 6-2 lead in another match. But L.A. Mission could not close the match out and OCC won six games in a row to pull out an 8-6 win, giving the Pirates a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

In singles play, Anna Kynclova closed out her match. While Elizabeth Rodriguez and Lia Sarjveladze were still in the game. Lia Sarjveladze was even with Nelson from OCC, while Elizabeth Rodriguez was up on Pascual. Unfortunately, the matches were stopped following the conclusion of OCC's fifth win.

Despite the loss, L.A. Mission College had a great season and made it to the second round of the playoffs. The Eagles have a lot to be proud of and are sure to come back even stronger next season.
