The Hornets wrapped up the season at home Friday night with a 1-0 win over Saddleback College.
Finishing the season undefeated in the Orange Empire Conference champs with a record of 10-0-4, the team secured the No. 8 seed of for the SoCal Regionals and will now play at home Saturday.
One goal is all the Hornets needed to win the match, and it happened in the 64th minute on a corner kick by Brandon Acevedo that gave Cisco Torres the opportunity to chip the ball past the Bobcat's goalie.
FC locked down its 11th shutout of the season with strong defense and a solid effort by goalie Ryan Moreno-Rojas, who had 1 save in the 90 minutes.
Before the game, the Hornet sophomores were honored for their hard work in the class room and on the field the past two years. The FC sophomores are Ryan Moreno-Rojas, Evan Yoell, Kyle Sherman, Julio Toaza, Evan Courtney, Juan Luis Quintana, Cesar Marquez, Thomas Gomez, Nathan Giles, Hayden Kenny, Hector Guevara, Jacob Ponce, Omar Ruiz, Ricardo Michel, Pedro Delgado, Emiliano Medina, and Chris Busane.
Up Next: Fullerton (14-3-5 overall, 10-0-4 OEC) landed the No. 8 seed for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Hornets have a Round 1 bye and will play the winner of No. 9 LA City College and No. 24 College of the Desert at Fullerton College's Hal Sherbeck Stadium on Saturday, November 23rd.
