Riverside City College got back in the win column with a three-set sweep (25-22, 25-17, 25-15) over Golden West College Wednesday evening.
The Tigers improve to 12-5 overall and 6-1 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Rustlers drop to 5-10 on the year and 3-5 in conference.
Kilyn Hayes led RCC with 14 kills with just two errors and added 12 digs. Tabitha Irish added 11 digs, while Keira Isgar was hot from the line with four aces. Riley Chaffee and Alyssa Bishop helped fuel the Tiger offense, posting 16 and 10 assists, respectively.
Off the net, RCC had 11 blocks, including seven from Jaeda Whitmire and four block assists each from Isabel Reyes and Dani Luna.
Riverside – which is back in a tie for the top spot in conference with Saddleback College and Orange Coast College – looks to build momentum as it hits the road again for a match at Santa Ana College Friday at 6 p.m.
