Riverside Routs Fullerton via Sweep

Riverside Routs Fullerton via Sweep

The Riverside City College men's tennis team routed the Fullerton College Hornets via sweep on Thursday afternoon in its second Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match of the season. The Tigers dominated up and down the lineup against a limited Fullerton roster.

Two singles matches and one double matche went in the favor of Riverside via forfeit. The Hornets only played four players.

Sophomore duo Rafael Rullan and Carlos Rullan set the tone as the top doubles players leading to an 8-1 win. Sophomore Anaht Bhika and Autsin Harvill followed as the number two doubles team and mirrored their output with an 8-1 victory.

R. Rullan was the only singles player that allowed the match to carry into three sets despite winning the opening frame 7-5. He allowed a 2-6 loss to occur in the second set, but roared back in the tiebreaking third set.

Freshman Emilio Real worked a commanding 6-0, 6-2 win at the second singles position, while freshman Enrico Recchia backed him with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the third position. Freshman Raphael Delente capped the showings at the fourth position with an easy 6-0, 6-0 win.
