Palomar Completes Season Sweep of Orange Coast with 12-8 Victory

SAN MARCOS, CA (2/20/2025) -- The Palomar College baseball team secured its second win over Orange Coast College this season, defeating the Pirates 12-8 at home on Thursday afternoon. The victory completed the season sweep of Orange Coast and improved the Comets' record to 7-4.

Early Offensive Explosion

Palomar wasted no time setting the tone, scoring three runs in the first inning and three more in the second to jump out to a 6-2 leadTK Madera sparked the offense with a two-run home run, while Carter Jorissen, Hunter Stencil, and Adrian Macias each contributed RBI hits.

Orange Coast chipped away with runs in the third, sixth, and eighth innings, but the Comets answered back in the later frames. Jordan Treadwell delivered a two-run homer in the seventh, followed by Justin Tucker's three-run double, giving Palomar a commanding 11-4 lead.

Pitching Effort Holds Off Pirates

Ian Mowad (1-2) earned his first win of the season, pitching six solid innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hitswhile striking out fourJacob Imoto followed with two innings of relief, surrendering just one run and striking out three.

Though Orange Coast made a push in the ninth, scoring three runs, Peyton Perry closed the door, recording the final two outs to seal the win.

Palomar (7-4) will now turn its attention to a home-and-home series against Riverside City College, starting with a road matchup against the Tigers tomorrow before hosting them on Saturday.
