Men's Water Polo Opens the 2024 Season 2-0 After Defeating Mt. SAC and Riverside Community College

Coming off an impressive 2023 campaign, the American River College Men's Water Polo program entered the 2024 season with great expectations.  The Beavers did not disappoint as they opened the season 2-0 after great wins over Southern California powerhouses Mt. San Antonio College and Riverside Community College at Mered College's North vs. South Tournament.

In the morining match the Beavers took on Mt. San Antonio College and this match did not disappoint.  Both teams proved to be evenly matched with Mt. SAC taking a 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter, only for the Beavers to storm back to tie the match at 6-6 going into halftime.  

In the third quarter both the Beavers and Mt. SAC would score three goals each, resulting in a 9-9  going into the fourth quarter.  However, the Beavers managed to hold Mt. SAC to only one goal in the fourth quarter while adding two goals of their own to take the 11-10 victory.

In the after match against Riverside Community College, the Beavers found their rythm earlier talking an 8-2 lead into halftime two goals each by Luke Raby, Luke Kneeland, and Matt Ruano.  The Beavers would then add seven more goals in the second half Renzo Archer, Luke Kneeland, Caden Rutan, Cayden Pitzer, and Matt Ruano, to take home the 15-6 victory.

The Beavers will now have a couple weeks off before traveling to participate in the Aggie Roundup at UC Davis on September 14th and 15th.
