Dons Escape with 4-3 Win Over OCC in Wild Match

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The second half of Friday's Men's Soccer match against the Orange Coast Pirates (4-10-3, 2-6-2) was filled with drama as six goals were scored before the Dons finally came away with a 4-3 win.

Despite having a 1-0 lead going into halftime thanks to Paul Carrillo's goal in the 23rd minute, the Dons lost their edge in the second half.

At the 70 minute mark, the Pirates scored a couple goals within two minutes to take the lead, putting the pressure on SAC.

The Dons responded quickly as Alfredo Ceja scored on a pass from Carrillo to tie the score at 2-2 just seven minutes later.

But the tie score was short lived as OCC came right back with yet another goal at the 80th minute.

Sophomore midfielder Ivan Torres came up big a few minutes later, controlling a ball off a throw in and taking two shots to get the equalizer into the bottom left corner of the Pirate goal.

Torres then found Diego Alvarado a few minutes later for the game winning goal, capping the comeback for the Dons.

Santa Ana now sits in second play in Orange Empire Conference play and hope to make a playoff push with the toughest part of their schedule coming up.
