CSM REBOUNDS FROM 1ST COAST VB LOSS SINCE 2021 WITH 3-0 SWEEP OF LPC

The College of San Mateo women's volleyball team began the second half of Coast South play with an easy sweep of visiting Las Positas College, 25-8, 25-23, 25-21, on Friday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (5-1) are in second place after West Valley (6-0) came back from a first set-loss, 25-19, to take the next three sets, 28-26, 25-22, 25-20 at College Heights Gym last Wednesday.  It was the first Coast setback for reigning champion San Mateo since 2021. The Bulldogs have swept all other league foes, 3-0, this season.

CSM will get another shot at the Vikings (6-0) in the Nov. 10 Coast South finale in Saratoga. San Mateo is 10-8 overall, playing many of the state's top teams and holds a victory over defending state champion Feather River College.

This week San Mateo visits Gavilan College (1-5) in Gilroy on Wednesday and Skyline College (2-3) in San Bruno on Friday, both at 6:30 p.m.
