Pirates win three straight on the road

GLENDORA -- The Orange Coast College women's volleyball team went a perfect 3-for-3 on the road last week with victories over San Bernardino Valley, Glendale and Citrus.

Against SBVC on Wednesday, Danyelle Brown collected 10 kills and nine digs to lead the Pirates to a 25-16, 25-11, 27-29, 25-20 win over the Wolverines. 

Lehua Alama-Jordan added nine kills, while Sierra Brown contributed eight kills, four aces and nine digs.

Carina Perez led the defense with 16 digs, while setter Danielle Boyette dished out 41 assists.

On Thursday, the Pirates headed to Glendale to take on the Vaqueros and there, Coast cruised to a 25-16, 25-9, 25-14 win. Again Danyelle Brown paced the offense with 12 kills and nine assists, while Kellie Kleszcz added six kills and three solo blocks.

Boyette dished out 25 assists and Perez was huge at libero with 25 digs.

Against the Owls on Friday, the Pirates took care of business with a 25-10, 25-16, 25-13 win to improve to 5-0 overall.

Sierra Brown led the way offensively with 12 kills and seven digs, while Danyelle Brown added five kills. 

Perez came up with 16 digs, while Boyette dished out 29 assists.

Coast will return to the familiar surroundings of the Peterson Gym on Wednesday to take on Pasadena City College, beginning at 5 p.m.
