The Irvine Valley women's tennis team started its 2021 season with 7-0 win over Cypress at home Tuesday afternoon.

IVC had to cancel both of its matches against Fullerton last week due to health and safety protocols.

But the Lasers were ready to be back on the courts today.

IVC sent out a singles roster of Soleil Zsibrita, Sydney Grove, Nicole Harper, Valeska Fernandez and Amethyst Lam.

The five Laser singles players lost a total of nine games. Zsibrita won, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles.

Hernandez did the same for IVC at No. 3 singles.

In the two doubles matches, Zsibrita and Harper won, 8-0 at the No. 1 spot and Hernandez and Grove dropped the first game, but won the next eight straight for an 8-1 victory.

IVC is back in action on Thursday in another conference match at Cypress at 2 p.m.
