With Women's Soccer Playoffs Set, All-OEC is Recognized

The Southern California Regional Playoff picture was set by the coaches on Tuesday and four programs from the Orange Empire Conference will be included. The coaches also decided on Monday that Orange Coast midfielder Jordan Moore was the conference MVP and Ian Woodhead of Santiago Canyon was the Coach of the Year. 

Moore finished the season with 13 goals and 10 assists, helping the Pirates to a third place finish in the OEC standings. She scored in nine different games from the midfield position, including a three-goal performance against Santa Ana in the final week of the season. 

Santiago Canyon joined OCC with four players on the first team. The Hawks concluded the regular season undefeated with a 19-0-1 overall record and 15-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play. Santiago Canyon was represented by forwards Lauren Sabella and Cassie Soto along with keeper Siera Pedroza and midfielder Renee De la Torre.

The playoffs will start on Thursday with the play-in round followed by round one on Saturday. Orange Coast will host Mt. San Antonio in the play-in round after the Pirates were deemed the No. 15 seed. Santiago Canyon was seeded No. 2 for the playoffs and will host the winner of that game on Saturday. 

In addition, Saddleback garnered the No. 10 seed and will travel to Chaffey College while Cypress was tabbed the No. 13 seed and will play at Rio Hondo College.
