Saddleback Wins Third Straight OEC Women's Golf Title

The Saddleback College women's golf team clinched its third consecutive Orange Empire Conference title on Monday as the Gauchos (23-1) won the conference match hosted by Mt. San Antonio College at The Babe course at the Industry Hills Golf Club.  Saddleback shot a 343 team score to edge past the host Mounties (361) while Fullerton (375) finished third.

Saddleback was led by Brittney Do with a 9-over 80 while freshman Anna Stowers posted an 84 and Tannaz Khazeni added an 88.  Mt. San Antonio received an 80 from sophomore Mackenzie Kelly while teammates Cristina Liu and Brianna Rojo each posted 90's.

Fullerton sophomore Eunsoo Jeon (pictured) earned individual medalist honors for the fourth consecutive event by posting a 3-over-par 74 to edge Katie Stribling of Irvine Valley by one stroke.  Natalie Widjaja of Fullerton added an 89.

The entire Orange Empire Conference field will participate in the conference championship over the next two Wednesdays on the Los Serranos Country Club course in Chino Hills.  The first round of the two-day, 36-hole event will take place on Wednesday, October 24, and the second round will take place on Wednesday, October 31.  The top teams and individuals from the conference will advance to the CCCAA Southern Regional Championship on Sunday and Monday, November 4-5, at the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang.
