Stribling Leads OEC Golfers at Mesa Linda

Irvine Valley College freshman Katie Stribling earned medalist honors for the second consecutive Orange Empire Conference women's golf match, posting a 2-over-par 72 on the Mesa Linda course at the Costa Mesa Country Club on Wednesday.  She edged Fullerton sophomore Eunsoo Jeon by two strokes and Saddleback sophomores Brittney Do and Tannaz Khazeni by four strokes.

Saddleback easily captured the team title, posting a 4-person team score of 323 as Sunhae Son (83) and Tomoko Kim (88) rounded out the scoring for the Gauchos.  Both Fullerton and Mt. San Antonio each posted team scores of 354 with Mt. SAC earning second-place points due to the finish of each team's fifth golfer.  Irvine Valley and host Orange Coast were not able to post a team score.

Only one other golfer was able to break 80 on the day, and that was Mt. San Antonio sophomore Mackenzie Kelly with a 78.

Saddleback holds a 2-win lead over Mt. San Antonio in the team standings and the Gauchos will host a conference match on Wednesday (September 26) at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course in Mission Viejo starting at 11:00 a.m.
