Preliminaries of the 2015 OEC Track and Field

Costa Mesa, Calif. - The preliminaries of the 2015 Orange Empire Conference Championships were held under sunny skies at Orange Coast College's Track & Field.

Overall, nine of the prelim events were claimed by Riverside as the Tigers won the women's 1000 meter run (Brianna Jacklin, 39:37.44), the women's long jump (Maia Reynolds), the women's pole vault (Arielle Bray 3.40m), the women's shot put (Richelle Kafoa, 11.63m), the women's Steeplechase (Isi Ibarra, 12:08.28), the  men's 100 meter dash (Quinton Bell, 10.87), the men's 400 meter hurdles (Matthew Kirkendall, 55.84), the men's Steeplechase (Dennis Gonzales, 10:05.16) and the men's shot put (Frank Clarke, 15.79m).

Saddleback College won the women's hammer throw (Jacklyn Chasteler, 53.57m), the men's hammer throw (Mitch Dixon, 58.71), the men's long jump (Lee Mitchell, 6.97) and the men's 1000 meter run (Ulysses Orozco 31:54.77). Golden West College's Daria Sharova won the women's hurdles while Orange Coast College won the men's 110 meter hurdles (Justin Gibbons, 14.93) and the men's pole vault (Kyle Victoria 4.53m) to round out the prelims.

The Orange Empire Conference finals will be settled next Friday, April 24, again at Orange Coast College.
