HORNETS WIN INAUGURAL MEN'S VOLLEYBALL GAME

The Hornet men's volleyball team opened their first-ever season on Friday night and wrapped it up with a 3-0 win over Antelope Valley College.

It was also the Marauder program's first match ever as they took a 4-0 lead in game one. The Hornets, however came back strong to finish it out 25-18.

In game two, FC came out on fire as they controlled the pace taking it 25-17.

Game three saw AVC taking an early 3-0 advantage, but the Hornets quickly erased the deficit taking a 10-6 lead. Tied 18-18, FC broke the final game open winning 25-20 to win their first match ever.

"I'm honored to be part of history here at Fullerton College. It's the 100th year of athletics at the college, and I'm very excited for the Hornet men's volleyball team to make its mark. Tonight's win was a big step in the right direction, and I'm very happy with the team's effort tonight", Hornet Head Coach Eddie Rapp.

FC's Manny Andrade led the team with 10 kills and 8 digs tonight. Kyle Young followed up with an 8-kill effort. Jordan Von Borstel had 6 kills while Jordan Serrano and Javier Zavala each had 4 kills. Dale Irvin delivered with 28 assists.

Up Next: The Hornets (1-0) will play at Santa Barbara City College this Saturday, January 28th. Game time is at 4:00 pm.
