Irvine Valley's men's tennis team earned at least a share of the Orange Empire Conference title on Friday with an easy 9-0 win over Cypress.

The Lasers, ranked No. 1 in Southern California, will go after the title outright when they host second-place Saddleback on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

With Friday's win, Irvine Valley improved its record to 13-1 overall and 9-0 in conference.

The 9-0 win was Irvine Valley's sixth shutout in conference play.

The Lasers dominated throughout, winning all five singles matches that were played in straight sets over Cypress.

In fact, IVC dropped just one game in the five matches.

Freshmen Carson Williams, Bruno Figlia and Stan Gavoty and sophomore Max Rumeau each won, 6-0, 6-0.
