Gameiro, Cunha share top honors for All-Orange Empire Conference
Orange Coast College midfielder Vitor Gameiro and Santa Ana College midfielder Matheus Cuhna shared the Most Valuable Player honors for the 2017 season, as voted on by the coaches of the Orange Empire Conference at their postseason meeting.

Gameiro notched a conference-best 32 points (21 in the OEC) and his 12 goals overall were second in the OEC behind fellow Pirate Nick Cardenas, who had 13.
Cuhna was the catalyst for the Dons on both sides of the ball, scoring six goals and dishing out six assists in 2017, his all-around play earned him the praise of all who saw him play at Santa Ana College.

OEC champion Golden West College had four first-team selections, including the freshmen trio of Jesus Vargas, Juan Vargas and Luis Sosa, who join sophomore teammate Omar Morales on the list. The depth of the Rustlers showed on the stat sheet as 16 different players had at least one goal in 2017.

The future is looking bright for the OEC for 2018 as 23 different freshmen earned spots on this year's all-conference list.
