Pirates Score Booty in Win at El Prado

Orange Coast College captured the Orange Empire Conference match at El Prado with a team score of 375 to increase its lead in the conference standings while Riverside (378) and Santiago Canyon (379) were not far behind.

The win by the Pirates improved their record to 21-4 in conference play while Santiago Canyon (15-10) broke out of a three-way tie for second place to hold a slight edge over Cypress (14-11), Saddleback (13-12), and Riverside (12-13). 

The top four teams finishing at the El Prado course were able to count all five scores of players shooting in the 70's.  Orange Coast was led by Marcus De La Rosa, Austin Briggs, and Jordan Meas who each carded 2-over-par 74's.  Riverside was led by Jordan Sams (73) and  Paul Bradvica (74) while Santiago Canyon was led by Austrin Trcka (73) and Michael Lascari (74).  

Cypress posted a team score of 381 and was led by Dylan Hall (74) and Claudio Phillips (75) while Saddleback finished fifth at 397 despite a 73 from Alex Diaz.

Sams, Trcka, and Diaz all tied for medalist honors.  It was back-to-back medalist honors for Trcka while it was the first medalist recognition for Sams and Diaz.  Santiago Canyon and Saddleback have each had a medalist in three of the five conference matches this season. 

The next OEC match is scheduled for Monday, March 21, at the Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita.
