Santiago Canyon College sophomore Austin Trcka posted a 3-under-par 69 to share medalist honors with Orange Coast College's Marcus De La Rosa and lead his Hawks to an Orange Empire Conference victory on the Navy Course on March 2.

SCC teammate Michael Lascari was a shot back at 2-under-par 70 and Ryan Mendoza carded an even-par 72 as the Hawks posted a team score of 367.  Orange Coast and Cypress both had team scores of 378 but Cypress got the second place points when its sixth man shot an 80 as compared to the 85 posted by Orange Coast's sixth man.  Dylan Hall of Cypress was also in the red, posting a score of 1-under-par 71 while Charger teammate Luca Yi carded a 74 and Alec Montalbo finished with a 76.

Saddleback (382) and Riverside (385) were not far behind in the team scoring.  Nick Prudhomme of Saddleback fired a 74 to pace the Gauchos while Colin McNie posted a 75 to lead the Tigers.

Orange Coast (16-4) still holds a slight lead in the conference standings but Santiago Canyon's win created a three-way tie for second place between the Hawks, Saddleback, and Cypress, each with a 12-8 conference record.

The next OEC golf match is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, at the El Prado golf course and will be hosted by Santiago Canyon College.
