SOFTBALL: HORNETS SWEEP TIGERS

The softball Hornets hosted Riverside City College on Friday sweeping the Tigers three games to none with a 4-1 win.

The win helps keep Fullerton (20-13 overall record) in the tight race within the Orange Empire Conference (9-8 OEC). The loss bumps Riverside down to 10-23 overall and 4-13 in the OEC.

With the score knotted up 0-0, FC catcher Anissa Loera got things going on a ripped double that bounced off the top of the left field fence (it was going out of the park until the wind blew it back in). From there, the Hornets loaded the bases with one out. Erin Molina forced in the game's first run (pinch runner Nicole Pratt) on a walk. Alexis Pintado did some damage hitting a shot up the middle t score Celina Sanchez and Brigid Ruiz.

The Hornets scored the fourth run the following inning on Molina's sacrifice fly to center field scoring Loera.

RCC put up their only run in the seventh when Jordan Emanuele singled to left field scoring Elise Ramirez.

Hornet pitcher Brigid Ruiz (13-7) tossed a complete game going 7 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 run, and 3 K's with no walks.

Up Next: Fullerton will play at Cerritos College this Saturday, April 10th at 1:30 pm.
