CYPRESS, Calif. ---  The Lady Chargers showed up focused and ready for a win vs. Santa Ana on Sophomore Night in Cypress, Calif.

Cypress controlled the game from the opening tip and never looked back.  Denshay Wallace had 14 points at the half with Katey Kanamoto leading the way for Cypress with 15 points of her own heading into the break.

Lauren Hong ended up scoring 14 second half points to push the Cypress lead to 28 at one point in the game and the Lady Chargers ended up taking the victory over the Dons, 96-68.

The Chargers shot a very respectable 52% from the field and ended up shooting an outstanding 10-16 from behind the three point line.

Wallace (21), Hong (21), Kanamoto (19), and Haley Gorman (11) all finished the night scoring in double figures for the Lady Chargers.

Megan Hanson and DeShields Fajardo ran the offense very successfully and ended up recording four assists a piece in the contest.

Wallace recorded eight rebounds for Cypress while Sophomore forward Jessica Beeler finished off the night with seven rebounds of her own for the Cypress Chargers.

"I love how we played tonight and if we play to our potential I believe we're a very dangerous team," said Cypress Head Coach Margaret Mohr.

"All the Sophomores played huge and Megan Hanson's leadership was great.  I was proud of the way everyone stepped up and I also thought Denshay had an amazing game tonight."

The Lady Chargers finished the regular season with a 16-13 overall record and a 7-5 conference finish.

Cypress ended up finishing in front of Santa Ana, Fullerton, and Riverside in the OEC and tied for third place with Irvine Valley.
