Monica Salas, a freshman from Dos Pueblos High, went 3-5 with four RBIs and three runs. She delivered a two-run single in the fifth and a two-run triple in the eighth. Alyssa-Rae Jewell and Delainy Ogan each had two of the Vaqueros' 12 hits.

She allowed just one run on seven hits in the nightcap with two strikeouts and three walks. McNamee went 2-3 in the second game with a two-run single in the sixth that stretched the lead to 4-1.
