Huntington Beach, Calif. - Golden West men's volleyball (12-3, 2-2 OEC) swept the Santiago Hawks (1-14, 0-4 OEC), (25-15, 25-15, 25-14). 

For their first matchup of the year, the Rustlers hosted the Hawks for an Orange Empire Conference battle. It was a close clash as both sides went point for point tied at three apiece. Midway through, Golden West attempted to separate as they took a four point edge, 16-12. The Rustlers dominated from there and won the first set, 25-15. 

Golden West took control to start the second set as they went up ahead quickly, 4-1. The Hawks fought back to come within two midway through, 10-8. The Rustlers repeated their success from the first set and came out on top in the second, 25-15. Golden West did not lose their momentum as they led the third and final set, 14-8. The Rustlers closed out the night with a set sweep victory over the Hawks, 25-14.
