WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: HORNETS LET ONE SLIP BY

The Lady Hornets could not pull off the season sweep of Santa Ana College on the road Wednesday losing to the Dons in five games.

It was not a walk in the park for Fullerton like it was the last time they swept Santa Ana 3-0 at home last month.

The Dons stunned the Hornets taking game one 25-22, but FC fought back winning game two 25-23. The third game was all Santa Ana as they dismantled Fullerton 25-14. In game four, Fullerton eked out a 25-22 win, but the Dons clinched the fifth and final game 15-10. The Hornets had their chance with 9-8 lead in the middle of the set, but the Dons went on a 7-1 run to seal the Orange Empire Conference victory.

Kaylyn Johnson put forth her best effort for the Hornets with a season-high 18 kills. Cambria Schuitema totaled 11 kills while Andrea Lopez and Kailyn Case both totaled 8 kills. Lopez also had 15 digs and Case contributed 39 assists. Priscilla Gutierrez had 19 digs and Maya Maldonado had 17 digs.

Up Next: The Hornets (6-11 overall, 3-8 OEC) will host Saddleback College this Friday, October 27th at 6:00 pm.
