WOMEN'S WATER POLO: SOCAL CHAMPS!!!

The undefeated #1 Hornets made history on Saturday winning the Southern California Regional Championship for the first time in the program's history.

Following a first round bye, Fullerton opened up against Golden West College on Friday in round two of the SoCal Regionals (hosted by Citrus College) knocking out last season's state champions by a score of 16-4.

On Saturday, FC took care of Chaffey College in the morning game 17-5 to move onto to the title match-up against Riverside City College later on in the day. It was a hard-fought contest (the 5th on the season) where the Hornets came out on top 9-8 winning the SoCal Regional for the first time in school history.

"Our team had some adversity, but they found a way to fight through and win their games. I'm very proud of them and the way they never give up", Head Coach Gabriel Martinez.

Up Next: The Hornets (33-0) and Tigers will both move on to the State Championship Tournament held at American River College November 20-23 where they will face the top two teams in the northern region.
