Bump, Set, Spike.

CYPRESS, Calif. --- The Cypress College women's volleyball team took care of business on Wednesday night against the Ventura Pirates.  After the lady Chargers took the first set, (25-11), Cypress never looked back.

Ani Green took charge in the first set of the night for the Chargers.  Green was able to record 11 kills in the first set and completely dominated the net for Cypress.  Ivana Escobedo recorded nine kills in the first set and was able to work well beside Green. 

The second set didn't come easy for the Chargers.  Cypress was able to squeak out a (28-26) victory to take a (2-0) lead on the night.  

After winning the competitive second set, Cypress knew they had to capitalize on the situation.  The third set ended up being a repeat of the first, as the Chargers defeated the Pirates once again by a score of (25-11).  This gave Cypress the 3-0 victory and a 2-1 record at home so far for the season. 

Allyson Dekruyf added 45 assists on the night while Dymond Johnson led the Chargers with 21 digs.  

Green also had four solo blocks on the night.

Cypress takes on Mt. San Antonio on Wed. Oct. 2nd, at 7:00 pm.
