GCC Baseball beats Santa Ana 10-8 Feb. 29 in four game week; now 9-7 heading into the start of WSC South play
Gabe Juarez hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to break an eight all tie to help give the GCC Baseball Team a 10-8 win over Santa Ana College Thursday Feb. 29. Now 9-7, Glendale lost three of four games during the week, to Santa Ana 3-1 on Feb. 27, to Saddleback 11-6 on Feb. 28 and 11-7 to Santa Ana Martch 1.
 
In the win Feb. 29, Ethan Perez had three hits including a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Sam Grunberg had two hits as well as one RBI and scored one run. Dylan Goodrich got the win in relief of starter Joe Estrada as each hurler pitched four innings as Goodrich improved to 3-1. Joseph Perez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his fourth save. 
 
GCC starts defense of its WSC South Title with three games against L.A. Valley College, Tuesday March 5 at home at 2:30 pm, at L Thursday March 7 at 2:30 pm and home Saturday March 9 at 1 pm. All home games are at Stengel Field.
