The Saddleback women's volleyball team swept past Chaffey College and San Diego City College on Friday inside the gymnasium at the Saddleback tri-tournament. The Bobcats are now 4-1 to start the season.
Saddleback made quick work of both opponents, winning both matches 3-0. The Bobcats had it on cruise control in winning the early match over Chaffey 25-13, 25-15, 25-18. Saddleback then defeated San Diego City 25-18, 25-17, 25-22. The Bobcats were challenged in the final set of the day, falling behind 14-11 before rallying past the Knights.
Olivia Gonzalez dished out 32 assists in the opening match of the day as the team had a .435 kill percentage. Marina Maffioli and Lacey Reed-Alba led the team with 10 kills apiece.
Saddleback will play again on Wednesday at Ventura College at 6:00 PM. The Bobcats will open Orange Empire Conference play next Friday against Fullerton College inside the gymnasium.
