WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: HORNETS SEE PINK

#7 Fullerton hosted Saddleback College on Wednesday and took care of business beating the Gauchos 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-18).

The win gives FC an overall record of 12-3 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 5-3. The loss lands Saddleback at 2-11 overall and 0-8 in the OEC.

Alex Winfield had a team-high 7 kills along with 5 assists. Larreya Hayden kicked in 6 kills with 7 digs and Carly Bergen had 15 assists, 3 digs and 3 aces.

Fullerton honored Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink to celebrate the lives of breast cancer survivors and those who were taken from us.

The Hornets wore special shirts to honor FC player Caroline Corp's mother, Sharon Roe Corp, who lost her battle to the disease on October 29, 2006.

"Volleyball was and has always been my primary solace. It helped me so much through the grieving process and has served as a gargantuan support system for me. My mother's strength and resilience is what inspires me most. She fought so hard to stay here to be with my sister and I. She also knew how to stand firm and argue her opinion without seeming condescending. She always cared for others and how they felt. She was just all around a very level-headed, open-minded, and independent woman", said Corp.

Up Next: Fullerton will travel to #5 Cypress College this Friday, October 31st @ 7:00 pm.
