Lead-off hitter Vanessa Tirado went 4-for-4 on Monday with one RBI and two runs in the Knights' 9-3 road victory over Saddleback.
Pitcher Sabrina Figueroa (12-9) allowed just one earned run with four strikeout in what became City's fourth consecutive win, its longest streak of the season.
The Knights trailed, 3-1, going into the 3rd inning, but Saddleback's lead wouldn't last long as the Knights answered with three runs in the 3rd. After singles by Meli Memea and Tirado, Carley Grant drove in City's second run on a single of her own. Tirado came home on a passed ball to tie the game and then Lexi Gonzalez put down a squeeze bunt that allowed Grant score their fourth run.
City added three more runs in the top of the 4th with back-to-back RBI doubles from Zoe Manjarrez and Ava Kopperschlager, and then a Tirado RBI single to give the Knights a 7-3 lead.
The Knights increased their lead to 9-3 with a run in the 5th and another in the 7th. Figueroa, meanwhile, held Saddleback to just one hit after the 3rd inning as the Knights went on to win for the fifth time in the last six games.
They improved to 15-12 overall and 9-5 in the PCAC.
City will play its final home game of the season on Friday against Southwestern at 1 p.m. They will then play a doubleheader at Moorpark on Saturday, April 20 and close the season at Desert on Monday, April 22.
