WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: FC BRINGS DOWN THE HAWKS

The Lady Hornets pulled on their first win in the Orange Empire Conference last Friday with a 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-19) victory over Santiago Canyon College.

Fullerton stumbled out of the gate losing the first game 23-25 but managed to sweep the next three from Santiago Canyon. The win breaks a nine-game losing streak.

FC has had some health issues this season, but they might be turning things around with some key players returning to the court.

Hornet sophomore Shawnee Longmeyer had a big night hammering down 15 kills. Freshman Catherine Serna was right behind with 14 kills, with 5 digs, and 3 aces. Kristine Perez had 7 kills, 8 digs and an ace. Freshman Paige Tillman delivered big with 38 assists with a kill and a dig. Victoria Rodriguez had 16 digs and Maya Maldonado helped out with 14.

Up Next: Fullerton (3-11 overall, 1-7 OEC) will play at Riverside City College on Wednesday, October 19th at 6:00 pm.
