WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: HIGHS AND LOWS

After an exciting big win over ranked Santa Ana College on Wednesday, the Lady Hornets came out flat at home Friday night as Saddleback College ran the table 58-42 in an Orange Empire Conference match-up.

The loss gives Fullerton an overall record of 5-12 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 1-4. The Gaucho win gives them their first OEC win on the season and helps their overall record move to 7-16.

Saddleback took control of the game early taking an 11-2 lead in the first quarter. FC tried to fight back by the end of the quarter getting within two points 14-12.

The Gauchos widened their lead in the second quarter scoring 12 points to FC's 3.

In the second half, Saddleback grabbed their largest lead of 19 points and the game was well in hand.

The Gauchos shot 31.7% from the field while Fullerton shot 29%. Saddleback also hit the boards harder out-rebounding the Hornets 46-39.

Emilee Dy scored a team-high 16 points for Fullerton, while Nancy De La Cruz and Jackelyn Ramirez both put up 6 points. Saddleback's Teoncea Bennett led all scorers with 21 points and Hannah Saliba managed 14 points.

Up Next: FC (6-11, 2-3) will host OEC and district rival #8 Cypress College on Wednesday, January 27th. Game time is at 7:00 pm. Come on out and support your Hornets!
