Gauchos Host Tournament to Open 2013 Season

The Saddleback women's water polo team opened the 2013 season by hosting a tournament this past weekend.  Unfortunately, the tide was against Saddleback as the Gauchos dropped three of the four contests.

Saddleback was defeated by Grossmont, 19-9, in the tournament opener on Friday morning and fell to Southwestern, 16-6, later in the afternoon.  The Gauchos dropped a 20-7 decision to Palomar on Saturday morning before bouncing back to defeat East Los Angeles College, 14-5, on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Mallory McCammon racked up 11 goals in the four games followed by freshman Brittany Farrell with 10 goals. |

Saddleback (1-3) will host Riverside City College in the Orange Empire Conference opener on Wednesday, September 18, at 3:00 pm.
