The Hornets swept through Citrus College 3-0 at home on Wednesday night for their season opener.
The win over the owls was a great start for Fullerton as they begin the season ranked 19th in the state with the hopes of making the playoffs again this season.
FC sophomore Alex Winfield led the way with 9 kills, 10 assists, and 7 digs. Sophomore Larreya Hayden stepped up as well with 7 kills, 6 digs, and 2 aces. Sophomore Grace Lopez had 5 kills, 2 digs, an ace, and an block assist. Freshman Shawnee Longmeyer helped out with 2 solo blocks, 5 block assists, and 2 kills.
Up Next: FC (1-0) will travel up to Ventura College this weekend to compete in VC Classic Quad that will feature Santa Barbara, Mira Costa, and LA Mission Colleges.
