CYPRESS, Calif. --- The Cypress Chargers Women's Volleyball team came ready to play on Wednesday night when they faced the visiting Gaucho's from Saddleback College.

Both teams were coming into the contest needing a victory, and fighting for the fifth place spot in the OEC standings. 

The first set of the night belonged to the Chargers the entire time.  From the first serve, Cypress took control and dominated the net, defeating the Gauchos by a score of (25-13).

The second and third sets were a little closer in competition, but the Chargers managed to run away with two (25-20) victories.

This was the fifth time this season that the Chargers won a match in a three game sweep. 

Ani Green dominated the net for the Chargers and led her team with 11 kills.  Allyson Dekruyf also led the Chargers with 24 assists on the night.  Cierra Boaz was second on the team in assists with 11.

Holly Webster also had a very notable performance.  Webster was all over the floor Wednesday night, recording 14 digs for her team.

Kiki Atuatasi and Vanessa Garcia both had nine kills each for Cypress and helped Green control the front line.

The Chargers have a chance to pass up fourth ranked OEC opponent Orange Coast College when they face the Pirates at home on Friday night.  

First serve is at 7pm.
