KNIGHTS STRUGGLE AT HOME AGAINST IRVINE VALLEY
The Knights were coming off a 50-point home win over Los Angeles Southwest last week and got off to a great start on Friday, but Irvine Valley (10-3) took over in the second quarter and went on to defeat City, 83-57.

Elliott Nixon scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, and blocked three shots. Breeana Gafare also put in 12 points.
The Knights (6-8) jumped out to a 10-0 lead after just 2:40 into the game, but that lead did not last long as Irvine Valley outscored the Knights 19-7 the rest of the quarter to grab a 19-17 advantage.
Irvine Valley increased its lead to 40-23 at halftime after finishing the second quarter with a 12-2 spurt and then took complete control in the third quarter.
The Knights committed 23 turnovers which led to 28 points for Irvine Valley. City shot 36.8 percent from the floor, while IVC made 48.3 percent of its attempts.
City will host College of the Desert on Thursday, January 10 at 5 p.m. and will be at home again on Friday against L.A. Harbor, also at 5 p.m.
