WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: DONS TOO MUCH

Fullerton came in with thoughts of upsetting #12 Santa Ana College in the Hornets Nest on Thursday night, but the Dons were too strong beating the Hornets 75-57.

Riding a six-game losing streak, FC overall record now stands at 5-17 and 1-9 in the Orange Empire Conference. The win boosts Santa's overall record to 17-9, and their OEC record now stands at 6-4 (3rd place).

Santa Ana ran the table in the first quarter holding FC to 5 points, while they took advantage scoring 18 of their own.

The second quarter had the Hornet making a small run scoring 13 points to the Don's 16, but it was not enough.

Santa Ana took their largest lead of the game in the third quarter at 24 points leaving FC in the rear view mirror for the rest of the game.

Freshman guard Madeline Calvert had her best game of the season scoring a team-high 16 points. Calvert was fun to watch hitting 7 out of 10 deep shots. Emilee Dy scored 14 points and Mika Wilson followed with 13 points. Monica Hana managed 9 points and 9 rebounds on the night.

It was sophomore night in the Hornets Nest where Head Coach Marcia Foster honored players Emilee Dy and Jasmine Young with flowers and framed photos.

Up Next: Fullerton (5-17, 1-9) will play the final two games of the season on the road next week. On Wednesday, February 17th FC will play at Saddleback College @ 5:00 pm. On Friday, February 19th the Lady Hornets will play down the street at Cypress College @ 5:00 pm.
